My experience in Cape Town was incredible. It’s the most welcoming, beautiful city I’ve ever been to, and I felt immediately at home. It was wonderful to live with other Connect-123 program participants and to have an immediate group of friends to explore the city with. Perspectives is located in a wonderful area at the center of the city and is close to Parliament, Greenmarket Square, Long Street, and the V&A Waterfront.

My program coordinator, Simone, took me to work on my first day, which greatly eased my anxiety. I was happy to discover that the internship I had been placed in was exactly what I was looking for– the right combination of interesting data work and interaction with coworkers and people involved in the organization’s various studies.

I highly recommend Cape Town to anyone interested in travel, even if it is their first time doing so alone. I also highly recommend Simone, who was extremely helpful– she even helped me plan a trip after my internship ended, which I also recommend leaving time for!
